Low Tide Nagalang, Kerupang

7 August, 2022

It was very hot and dry in Labuan during this week. We head to the Nagalang beach, near the new road. This is one of the places local will go to find clams and mussels during low tide.

After an hour of scrapping, or we call it “mengerakas”, I walked further to the beach. Here, I found lots of dried algae, or a red algae. I think due to the hot weather, it did affect the water temperature. At first I thought these are soft corals but it was actually a seaweed.

We found this prawn while scrapping the mud for clams around the mangrove trees. This is a good bait for fishing. Since I’m not looking for one, so I just let this guy go back to whatever it was doing.

Small crab. Easy to catch. Put them back so they can grow.

Some clams and edible sea snail.
