The Klagan @ Riverson Hotel & Residence, Kota Kinabalu

We had mixed feelings after reading reviews on hotel booking websites about this hotel. Some of the complaints were expensive parking fee, dusty bed and counter top and poor sound proofing wall. We had none of that.

The hotel is on the 3rd floor. Reception just next to the elevator. We booked online and paid RM168.00 for Superior room per night. If you walk in, the price would be RM 180 for Superior Room,  RM 220 for Family Room, RM280 for Suite and RM 350 for SOHO.

The room is ok, the bed is comfortable, the sheets and pillows are clean. There are fridge & kitchenette (kitchenette usually consists of a microwave oven, small refrigerator and sink). Plates, cups and other utensils are also available if you decide to dine in your hotel room. Near this hotel you can find some restaurant & 24-hour shops. Two blocks away are Imago shopping mall.

Our kids love to swim, so we definitely looking for hotel with good swimming pool. Good reviews were given to The Klagan’s swimming pool and gym, so we were in. The swimming pool is on 3rd floor and facing Gleneagles Hospital I believe.

With regards to parking fee, we were here during the National Day (Public Holiday), Eid-ul Adha (Public Holiday) and check out on Saturday (Weekend). So, we paid RM 9.00 parking fee because it’s RM 3 flat per entry during Public Holiday or Weekend. On normal day, it will be charged per hour – that’s why some are complaining about paying RM 15 or more for per day parking.

We extended our stay here for another night because we really like this place. If you think you like to stay here, check them out at the link below.
