Scout Hipicking at Labuan Chimney

We spent one Saturday with our son to a field trip at Labuan Chimney. It was his school’s boy scout program and parents were invited to join. The last time we went hiking was during our Nepal trip, so we decided to join them.

The field trip was in collaboration with Labuan Chimney Museum, so we were guided through several geo site nearby Labuan Chimney and given a briefing on historical and geological information. We learned that Labuan Chimney will provide this kind of tour guide for education purposes. Perhaps they can (or may have) collaborate with Labuan Tourism on this.

Our hike started from the gate behind Labuan Chimney, not the usual entrance near Labuan Bird Park quarters.

Walking down to the beach. This part of Labuan is beautiful and calm, and a popular spot during low tide at weekend.
Participants returning to base. The sea was rising, so they can’t go to the beach to visit another geo site, or do beach cleaning.
