Perbarisan Pra Kemerdekaan Peringkat Labuan 2008
Just got back from Labuan Square. I hooked up with Azil who just bought his D60 and we’re trying to get a material for his report. Besides, this is a good chance to practice this and that because we are not perfect lah.
We got there at 7.15 pm and the event was still on hold; probably because everyone was waiting for the VIP to arrive. We warmed up with experimenting few shots to figure out the proper setting, since
1. we don’t have external flash.
2. the spotlight at Labuan Square was not that bright, but good enough to lit the whole field.
I already planned few shots before I got there, so I will have a target to achieve. It’s a normal thing. You don’t go to the battlefield without purpose. To be honest, I got thrilled with some people’s photos taken with Slow Sync Flash.
The event started with more than 1,000 pre-school kids marching to their designated place. It was fun to see those kids doing their thing.
Then one of the kid led the contingents to pledge on something lah, probably on their commitment to our country lah I guess. Sorry, I was busy taking shot of this kid. He’s kinda funny tho’.
Then some representative reciting poem and they’re really good at it. You gotta see them with their expression while reciting the poem. Really something lah. Kids these days… (geleng kepala)
Until his part, he went silence for a while before suddenly shout Merdeka!
Tejatuh kamera uncle, dik…
Then the dance performance from Tadika Chung Hwa. It goes for about 10 minutes, and everyone (that means father and mother lah - I’m at pre-school event, remember?) entered the field to take photos of their kids.
To be honest, I forgot when was this part… before the performance or after the performance. YB Yusoff Mahal, delivering his speech.
YB Yusof Mahal and wife, Datin Isfahani Ishak presenting certificates and presents to all contingents.
Ok, this was the part that I’ve planned. I know it’s not perfect, but I think I got the idea already lah. Here you go.
Can you guess what I’m doing?
